You are legally obliged to return used batteries to ensure proper disposal. You can drop off used batteries at a municipal collection point or local store.

We are also obliged as battery distributors to take back used batteries, limited to the type we sell or have sold as new batteries. II Meaning of battery symbols Batteries are marked with a crossed-out wheelie bin symbol. This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of in household waste.

For batteries containing more than 0.0005 weight percent mercury, 0.002 weight percent cadmium, or 0.004 weight percent lead, the chemical designation of the respective pollutant is indicated below the wheelie bin symbol - "Cd" for cadmium, "Pb" for lead, and "Hg" for mercury. III Starter batteries When selling starter batteries, the following special conditions apply: The seller is obliged under § 10 BattG to charge a deposit of €7.50 including VAT to end-users if the end-user does not return a used starter battery at the time of purchasing a new one. This deposit fee is included in the purchase price. The deposit is ONLY refunded when you return a vehicle old battery directly to us. A return of your vehicle old battery is possible, but generally cannot be sent by post or courier service as it is hazardous goods. Refund of the deposit is excluded if you dispose of the battery through third parties. You can alternatively dispose of the old battery free of charge at recycling centers or recycling yards in your area.
